OUR FIGURE STUDIO PROGRAM: "NORTH OF THE TRACKS ARTISTS"
Our group of artists (aka North of the Tracks Artists) enroll in the spring of each year for the entire next season, which begins each October. Our season is six months long, meeting in October, November, and then, January through April. We meet the first three Thursdays of each month from 6-9 pm.
We enjoy the benefits of being a committed group of artists who value being in-community with one another. We also enjoy the opportunity to, in uninstructed sessions, work on developing our skills in figure drawing. We have discovered that consistent drawing leads to exponential growth in figure drawing ability.
Our models are professionals. They hold all long poses (nude), three hours each evening for three weeks. The studio is open for set-up at 5:30 and the model's pose begins at 6 pm sharp.
Some of our artists work on the same picture for three weeks, others move to a different easel location each evening. Easels, side tables and lighting are provided, but our artists set up and put away their own equipment each evening.
The months we meet are October and November, (December is a vacation month) January, February, March, and April. (May through September are vacation months.
The program takes place in the Buckmaster Studio at 2617 W. Stewart, Puyallup WA.
Maintaining one's enrollment in this community requires a $50 deposit in April, with the balance of $330 due in the first session in October. Open enrollment is May-Sept., if we have openings. We have 14 easel spaces in the studio.
Members of this program are automatically members of 'North of the Tracks Artists' with all of the privileges that may become attached to that membership, including currently, early bird invitations to special events, opportunities to show work, and opportunities for low cost photography of one's artwork.
